Business Assessment Service is an auditing organisation. It specialises in the assessment of businesses with regard to quality management systems such as ISO 9000, environmental management systems such as ISO 14001 and management systems for health and safety. In addition product assessment and certification is also performed with regard to CE Marking, Low Voltage and Machinery Directives of the European Union.
BAS operates on behalf of certification bodies and these may be accredited by the Accreditation Service for Certifying Bodies(Europe) Limited (ASCB(E)), or by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) or by non-UK based accreditation authorities. BAS also perform audits and assessment reports on behalf of second party organisations and non-accredited certification bodies. As such, BAS are subject to the overview of accredited organisations but it maintains the freedom and flexibility to offer audit services especially tailored to the needs of particular clients.
