 Prayer
Perhaps in some far distant time,
Reverence and adoration were then in mind.
And humankind was conscious of a greater being,
Yet could not phrase nor write; but seeing
Eternal powers more spiritual than man,
Raised monuments, and thoughts, concordant with a higher plan.
